Robots

Cardboard Toy Robots
2nd Grade

This is my favorite project of the school year! Each robot has a name, function, and price. I love that each one is so unique.

First, each student completed an idea worksheet to plan out what their robot would look like and how it would function. How will it help people?

Next, they cut light-weight cardboard into different shapes to form the robot.

Then, the robot was painted with tempera paints.

Finally, the robot was packaged as a toy. Each toy is labeled with a name, function, and price.

We were super excited to have a Robot Toy Store in the Principal's Office!

Art

Young School's 1st and 2nd Grade Art Show at the Performing Arts Center in Burlington Township, NJ.

Over 175 selected students were proud to display artwork! We enjoyed the photo booth, working on a collaborative art project and sharing our artwork with family and friends.
The photo booth was a big hit!

K Caterpillars

Kindergarten Caterpillars
We love to connect Art with Literacy.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is one of our favorite books!

First, we drew and painted food for the caterpillar to eat. He's VERY hungry!

Our Kindergarten students love to paint! We focused on choosing realistic color choices.

Next, we created the caterpillar. We were excited to sponge paint 4 circles.

After a lot of cutting and gluing our caterpillar was formed!

Finally, we added details such as eyes and feet using a sponge brush.

Family STEAM

Family STEAM Night
*Science,*Technology, *Engineering, *ART, *Math

We loved Family Steam Night

Students and parents were excited to attempt a variety of STEAM challenges.

Some new challenges added this year included the Cage A Dinosaur Challenge and the Build with Packing Peanuts Adventure.

The marble run was a big hit!

How many pennies can you pile in the boat without it sinking?

Who built the tallest index card tower?

The build-a-chair activity is a great STEAM challenge. Your chairs are very unique!

 Here's our STEAM Team!

The volcano station was very popular!

Family Character Night

Family Character Reading Night

We had a great time at Family Character Reading Night!

We loved dressing up as our favorite storybook characters!

Mr. Giannetto read the book Mouse Paint and created the secondary colors during a fun food coloring experiment.
